The Disco II's got rear seat LATCH lower anchors in the lower cushions of the rear seat (not the top tether anchors), and what positions they were in (driver's side outboard, passenger's side outboard, center)?

On another note, anyone using a large convertible car seat like the Britax Boulevard, rear facing, in the back of a Disco II, that can comment on how well it fits (center as well as outboard positions)? Thanks..

My 2000 has them, and the anchor is in the middle towards the middle of the truck.

Thanks for the response Steph, But I think we are missing each other on the description. I'm pretty sure lower LATCH anchors became mandatory in late 2002 for SUV's, but I'm not sure when Land Rover actually added them (Many manufacturers did it a year or two prior to the mandate).

The Lower Anchors are in sets of two, so there would either be four or six anchors in the lower seat cushion. I think you are talking about the upper tether restraint anchors, which have been in most vehicles since the early 90's.

Scott, I do have a 2000 and the Latch is not in mine! I believe that they were installed in the 2001, but would need to hear from the 01 owners out there. Our 03 definately has them.

I have an 03 SE that has the latch system in the middle, passenger side rear and driver side rear seat. We have the Britax car seat (not sure which model), that works will sit either forward facing or rear. It fits fine, just a have to manuver it a little funny to get it through the rear door. My little boy loves riding in the car because he see everthing from the elevated seating position. Hope this helps

I have a 2002 and I found them for you on the RAVE disc.

The RAVE is a PDF Document with images.

Does anyone know how I can copy the info to post it here??

Thanks :)

Okay, a cut and paste of the text is below. I don't know how to get the images from the PDF document for you. However, I can describe the locations. One of the anchors is above the rear cargo door. The other 2 are on the back of the passenger seats.

My truck does have lower anchors under the rear seats. I know they are there because this is where I attached the seat belt harnesses that my dogs wear. However, I do not think that is their intended purpose.

If it will help you, I can take pics of any areas you need tomorrow. Just let me know what locations you would like to see.

I hope that helps you a bit. :)

TETHER STRAP ANCHORAGES

Provision is made for the fitting of up to three
child seats or restraint systems in the rear
(second row) seats, of the type that require
tether strap anchorage points.
There are three tether strap anchorage points.
These should be used to attach tether straps
from child seats or restraint systems. Two
anchorage points are fitted to the back of the
second row seat, these should be used for the
two outer seating positions. A third single
anchorage point is located in the centre of the
rear header rail (above the tail door) for
attaching a tether strap from the centre seat
position. The anchorage points are shown in
the accompanying illustrations.

Attaching tether straps
1. Install the child restraint securely in one of
the second row seating positions.
2. Pass the tether strap over the back of the
vehicle seat and beneath the underside of
the head restraint.
3. Attach the clip on the head of the tether
strap to the tether anchor on the back of
the vehicle seat (or, for the centre seating
position, on the header rail above the
taildoor).
4. Tighten the tether strap according to the
manufacturer’s instructions to remove any
slack in the webbing.

WARNING
•Always follow the child seat or restraint
system manufacturer’s instructions when
fitting tether straps.
•When fitting a child seat or restraint
system, always pass the tether strap over
the top of the seat back and beneath the
underside of the head restraint.
•If a child seat or restraint system is to be
fitted to the centre seating position, the
centre armrest must be in the stowed
position (folded into the seat).
