Originally I used rottela, then I started getting ticking and knocking sounds. I was looking at using them with Castro 10/40. I have searched and found that MMO helps. Is this not the case? Would you recomend using using one over the other, if so which?

Kyle I use 15/40 Rotella and MMO. I don't do the MMO but once every three oil changes which come pretty fast for me. That being said when my truck had a lifter noise around 50K I used the stuff and it went away and has been gone ever since.

Also just told a local guy with an 03 Disco with 130k on his with same lifter noise about MMO he tried it and in about 200 miles he said his engine was nice and quite.

MMO doesn't solve everything but if you have a an engine with some clogged passages or sticky lifter/lifters I think it works very well.

I'll also use a small bottle in a full tank just before I go on a trip about 3 times a year.

I've got almost 120K now and I'm very happy with my quiet engine!

Thank you all for the replies. I ran out of time and took her into a local quick oil & lube place and they didnt have Rotella so I went with M1 40 and MMO. I hope this helps to quiet the engine. I do have other issues that need to be fixed and thy are slowly being checked off. thanks again! Rick
