Canadian Cold Start RECALL (Free Stuff!)

I remember a fellow on here some time back with a cold start issue on his 95 Disco in Canada.

I advised a new Prom and other parts as part of the Cold Start kit that Rover has to solve the problem.


Well, I was digging though some paperwork, and, I forgot about it, but there is a recall in CANADA ONLY for this very thing.

Translation, Rover will replace the PROM FOR FREE!!!!!!

Call the dealer and ask him about Recall number C855!!

If you have a recipt for the work already being done, you will get reimbursed.

i have been using the trusty block heater or my disco won't start on the really cold days.

i will call the land rover 'stealer' first thing in the morning.

Are you in Canada?

Again, this recall ONLY is good in Canada.

The Prom will work in the states, but you have to buy it.

Rover had a 'Cold Start" package with
A Prom
A Stronger Starter w/ Larger Cables.
Better eyelet connectors at the coil.

And, change the oil to 5-30.

It Works!
Well. It works really well.

Hi Chris,

It was me. I guess i will call the dealer and get some cash back.
Why was it only the prom that was refunded? I think it was about 30$ Canadain for the PROM.
