Caught the O'Reilly factor today and they were discussing the Cap and Trade Bill (the proposed one). According to what i gathered, if passed it would furthermore restrict some of the liberties we have and potentially hit the middle class yet with more taxes. One of the things included in the bill is a "state" inspection of the household prior to sale, to ensure that it does indeed comply with the "energy efficient" standards. Apparently if it does not, you will not be able to sell the house until such improvements have been made. In addition to other things, there will be a higher charge for use of energy, i.e. electricity; whereby if you go over a designated cutoff amount, not only will you have to pay a regular rate, but a higher ("gone over allotted amount") fee. Any thoughts on this?
