anyone have any recommendations for a good place in Wilmington NC? I know there is a stealership....Cape Fear LR but wondering:
a) they any good or rip you off like a few I know of?
b) any other indies that are good?

I am actually in Southport but don't know of any in town.

Problem..... Loud engine ticking (tappet?) noise. I think it is the oil pressure switch, maybe? Dunno but it comes and goes with the oil light on the dash when on idle. So I know it is a bit of an issue. So I want it diagnosed and fixed if reasonable.

Jonesy66....... I don't personally know anything about these guys.....ran across their website while tracking down a fuel pump a while back.....they are in Wilmywood..... over off Hwy. 421 near Sutton Lake Power Plant......just Northwest of the Battleship.

Do you ever go up on the North End at Carolina Beach with your Rovers ?

Just moved to Wilmington from Deland, Fl and posted on other forums the same question. Great to finally get some info and recomendations. I was looking at getting the plugs/ wires/ intake gaskets changed out but am going to do it w/my bro-in-law. I have all of the parts. Let me know how that shop works out as I don't go to dealerships.

Dr. Aaron is in Wilmington and knows a thing or two about rovers. I think he has a website at gb4x4.com. I'm not 100% sure he does service for others but I know he could point you in a good "rover" direction if he didn't do service.

Labriola's Automotive, Independent Tech in Wilmington, not far from the Rover dealer. Call the owner Brent Labriola 910-297-2590, he works on mine. I believe he also knows Dr. Aaron pretty well. Best thing is that he has a P38 and a D2 he drives every day, so he knows the trucks and the Rover addiction well. Good guy and a straight shooter. I've known him for a long time and will vouch for him.
I'm sure someone won't like the next comment, but if at all possible I avoid Tidewater Rovers. They are not the nicest or most knowledgeable people. Thats just my 2 cents.

off topic but do any ILM guys have any finance/banking connections employment wise. If so PM me to keep thread clean. Lived down there in Bradley Creek Marina while in school at pop's house and need to get out of this shit hole in Danville.
