I need to remove my front carpet. How many peices of carpet cover the front floorboard area? Is the carpet seperate from the rear carpet? Is it possible to remove only the driver's or passenger's? I just wanted to clarify before I tried to remove only to find one big piece that requires seat and console removal.

Thanks

Three large pieces of carpet. One in the cargo compartment, one running transversely just forward of the 2nd row. Those two are easy to remove and reinstall. One in the front, running transversely from the driver to the passenger side, over the transmission hump with lengths tucked underneath the center console on either side. Lots of goodies (wires) underneath, but I strongly suggest not removing it as you will likely rip most of the corners trying to take it out. Almost impossible to put back in.

I have the typical pass-sde wetness. I need to remove the padding and dry it out. I don't have access to covered parking so I can't leave my doors open with a fan. Is the padding seperate?

There is big rubber padding that is seperate. You might try removing the door step pieces and pulling it up and getting some air in there. It will give you an idea of how much water is in there.
Removiong the carpet looks like a bear, but I have not yanked mine yet, just done the above to install wires and dry it a bit.
