Hmmm, you're both from California...he is leaving and you reappear...it's a sign from God! Hey Errant, good to see you around. :)

Ah come on man, don't go away, you're pretty thick skinned and giving it right back to us. Sometimes we like being on the receiving end of some good natured cyber bullying. Even if we don't agree with your choice to "cash" in, and even if some of us don't agree with your choice of car, you've at least been entertaining.

BTW, is the V for Vagina? ;)

I'll likely still lurk and may jump in on some other threads from time to time - now that I have lost my posting virginity here.

How's that for tying this back to vagina in some small, token way.

So, you have a house like that, race cars like this, and yet you have the balls to use tax payer money to scrap your car and buy a new one?
Yep. Want to know what I pay in taxes under Obama?

Keep in mind - C4C is not a welfare system - its Raison d'être is getting American consumers to buy cars now, that they otherwise wouldn't buy. That fits us to a tee. We could and would have squeaked by a while longer on the Land Rover, but chose to buy now because of the incentive - so the plan worked exactly as it was designed to.

C4C isn't about giving away cars to the needy - although arguably it should be. It is about encouraging people to buy cars they otherwise would defer buying. Secondarily, it is about pulling gas guzzlers off the road.

LOL, I thought you were bullshitting when you said you bought a Cube! This keeps keeting better and better.

On a side note do you work directly for K&N? If so, are they hiring?

My wife drives a 04 hyundai sant a fe and I use to drive a 94 dodge ram lifted on 36's . After I found out she was expecting our third child I decided that 3 kids cant take them all safely in this truck . My first instance is to buy a Land Rover cause they have the room for the kids and are still fun to play in as well. This is my first Disco and I am hooked now .

Anyone who will trade one in for a vehical of a less stature is CRAZY!

Don't be such a douchebag.
We just bought a house; you can be sure, if we were eligible for the tax credit, we would have taken it.
Are you going to make a stand on your principles?
why bother?
no one cares, and the gubmint's gonna fuck you anyway.

The logic of Cash for Clunkers fits right in with public sector mentality.

:banghead:
QUote from this article:
"The Bureau of Reclamation's office in Boise, Idaho, is getting rid of its Beechcraft King Air 200 airplane. It wasn't a tough call, says Bruce Cassidy, program manager for property and office services. The glamorous, airborne inspections of the west's vast water projects -- a staple of Bureau of Reclamation life since 1956 -- is giving way to more the mundane life of the office jockey. Instead of flying engineers out to the Grand Coulee Dam in Washington State, staffers use videoconferencing gear and computer monitoring to keep tabs on the facility."

It reminds me of our customers wanting five of us to come for a review to Ridgecrest. We could've flown there in a King Air (45 min each way, 4 hours' total for a/c use). But instead we rented two f'n vans and drove to Ridgecrest (4.5 hours each way, plus overnight stay in an overpriced hotel - 90 man-hours total, +expenses.
