I just came back from watching Casino Royale. What a Bond flick!! Plenty of Land Rover action

I had reservations about the actor's ability to pull it off as James Bond. But, pull it off, he did! He's funny as hell in some scenes. I won't give it away, but the crowd was rolling. IMO, he fit the part perfectly, the doubts I had were shed within minutes.

The story was somewhat predictable, yet still delivered. Bond in a post 9/11 world with 21st century humour. It also showed a side of Bond we have never seen before. No, not his ass, but of his personality, his psyche.

I was very pleased to see the 3 black '06 110s, they were not '07s because they had inward facing seats. Did you anyone catch a glimpse of the military 110 (or 109) just before the Defenders drove up?

Whatever his beliefs about guns off-camera, it didn't show on camera. He wasted so many bad guys, the fight scenes were excellent. Compared to all previous Bond movies I've seen, the action was waaaay better.

Cheers!

I will vote as it was Okay. But he ain't no Pierce; and definitely NO Sean. He looks like a homosexual with that hair. No wonder the Bond girl count was so low in this one.

I saw it yesterday and thought it was a damn fine movie, let alone Bond flick.

The script was much better than some of the sophomoric crap that has been in many Bond movies. Don't get me wrong, I love Bond movies as a great escape from the daily grind.

This movie was in a different league. Even some of the extraordinary stunts (like the bad guy in the opening scene) seemed believable. Shorter on gadgets, and longer on trade-craft.

I did notice that there was a ridiculous number of Ford products throughout the movie. Parking lots in the Caribbean loaded with 10 year-old Lincolns, brand new Jags, and Range Rovers. Not a GM in sight.

I think I definitely got my money's worth. :)

I'll rent it when it comes out.

I haven't seen this guy before, and I haven't seen the movie, so I'll reserve any judgement on anything related to him personally.

I was just hoping to see Clive Owen snag the role.:( I think he has Bond written all over him.

Cheers,

I couldn't agree more about Clive Owen. I have seen him in everything from action to drama and the guy is great. The guy was made for the role.

I would be willing to bet that he didn't want it. Too much bagage and difficult to be a serious dramatic actor afterwards.

Volvo and Mazda as well. I recall a couple of Mazda products poking around too.

NO ONE can beat Sean. But Pierce was good. I haven't seen it yet (hoping to go Wednesday) so I don't know about Daniel.

The most recent two after GoldenEye were cheesy....this one sounds much better.

Saw it this weekend..... I would argue this guy gives Sean a run for this money....

This bond is flawed, gitty, way less metrosexual..... I liked it.

I think everybody on the planet has seen them all. Even that shitty "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" shows on basic cable at least 3 times a week.

Lazenby...What a tool.:p
