In the October 2004 issue of Land Rover Owner International on pages 128-129 there is an article about offroading in my home state of Pennsylvania. The article begins in Gettysburg, close to home, and then moves on to the Casparis Quarry Trail near Connellsville, PA. Which is south-east of Pittsburg, close to Ohiopyle State Park. I tried a brief search of the web to find any information on the trail. However, I can't find anything. The article in LROI doesn't have specific reference to the exact location or any contact details for information. Does anybody out there know anything about this trail? Or, for that matter, any good trails in south central PA, or southwestern PA? I never see much posted on Allegheny National Forest in north-west PA. All help is greatly appreciated.

That info may be out of date. I know much of the land around the Quarry is state gameland and that is definitely off limits. They have been ticketing and have either closed or are going to close off the caves to protect the bats that live there. Try contacting the Fort Pitt Rover Group as they may know where it is legal to ride (and in fact they were in that area in May) www.fplrg.org
