Has anyone had any experience with a Catco Y-pipe assembly complete with cats for a 1994 D1 ? I need a new one and the price on the Catco is $395.00. It says it's stainless steel pipe but I don't know if it's the same quality as orginal. I was getting a rattle on the right side and removed the Y-pipe to give the cats a shake. No rattle, but I did get a small amount of the converter material to fall out of the right side cat. Need oxygen sensors too. I think I'm gonna go with sensors from www.oxygensensors.com . My originals say Lucas but look like they are NTK . Is this correct?

i have sold a few of them. they looked to be quality pieces. i think Will sells them or was selling them.

you can always just cut out the old cats and weld in generics from Summit Racing. whole lot cheaper.

Do you remember if the piping seemed to be the same gauge?

The pipe is kinda rough for cat replacement. I would rather go the "plug and play" method.

well if your strapped for cash, or at least think the y pipe assembly for a disco is ridiculously overpriced, go to a custom exhaust shop and have em make ya one. they made me new y pipes, installed new cats, and installed my cat backs that i had bought from atlantic british for $350. i cant believe the dealer asks $1750 for y pipes. i mean i can but its wrong

yes the Catco unit looked to be well made and close to OE specs. the only difference i saw was that the pipe was not mandrel bent. not a biggie at all. but the welds were solid and the guage of metal was similar to OE. it was a pretty stout hunk of metal as are the OE units.
of the few i sold i did not get any negative comments about the install. i do remember one person having to buy a new olive gasket where the y pipe meets the rear exhaust. an olive gasket is a metal o ring gasket with tapered sides.

not sure who the OEM supplier was for them. most than likely a few people made them for LR.

Thanks Garrett, I might just give it a try. Big money difference between the OE LR and the Catco Y-pipe. Now I can use the money saved to buy another part. There is allllllways another part to replace. :D
