I have a 99 D2 and I want to install a CB. Can you guys post some pics of good locations. I'm thinking about mounting it behind the center console or above the sunroof switches. also thinking of mounting a firestik antenna on the rear tire carrier. i have not purchased the CB yet so i'm open to any suggestions.

Here's mine. I've since moved it forward a bit to clear an '04 cupholder.

BTW, I considered mounting it on the rear of the center console. I found that there wasn't enough clearance when the rear seat was folded forward.

Where did you mount your antenna?

The antenna is on the spare tire carrier. I ran the cord under the console, down under the rear floor mat, along the right hand rear door rocker panel, up past the rear seat and behind the panels to reach the rear. I then ran it through the bundle that carries the wiring into the tail door, and then out of the hole with the rear washer hose.

Kind of a pain, but once it's done, it's done.

You can eyeball the setup when I see you later this month.

i had mine where leeawalden has his on my d1, i wish i could put one in the same place on my RRC, its really nice because you remove the mic when you aren't using it and its completely out of the way, easier to hear and easy to grab but more importantly easy to put the mic away without looking

i am looking at the cobra with remote mount power and antenna hookup for my RRC, if you are going to spend $70 on a CB, you can get a decent uniden for much cheaper thats about the same dimensions, getting the antenna set up correctly is more importantly than spending a lot on the cb. a local cb shop only charges $10 to set up an antenna with a swr meter and they will trim the antenna, just an idea
