All of you that have mounted a CB, where have you taken in the wire for the ariel???
Is it possible to bring it in by the vinyl panels on the rear????
I do not want to make any holes...

I brought the CB ariel cable in through the the harness grommet, in the corner right rear floor on my Classic. Take off the right side cover, over the sub-woofer and the CD player, and you will see where the harness comes up through the grommet. Just make sure to water-proof around the harness and the CB ariel cable, at the grommet with RTV or caulking.

Hope this helps.

If you look under the floor, between the right rear tire and the back bumper you will see the harness and grommet that I refered to.

I have a 4 foot long CB ariel installed on my Classic. It is a little higher than my rack (just under 7 feet), but I can park in my garage (7 foot garage door opening) with no problem. The Classic body and the roof rack shield all but the very top of the CB ariel from tree limbs.

Recently, I assembled an offset ariel mounting plate to the top left side of the bumper. I used a cable with what the FireStik Antenna Company calls a low profile Fire-Ring connection. This positions the bottom of the ariel up away from damage. The previous ariel mount, left the bottom of it and the cable lower to the ground, and left it very vulnerable to damage. Earlier this year, I finally damaged it and the cable. I cut a clearance hole in the bumper end cap for the mounting plate and the cable. From there, I ran the ariel cable around the end of the bumper, under the bumper end cap. Next, I ran and secured the ariel cable from the left side to the right side, underneath the floor but above the bottom of the frame to protect the cable from damage. Then, I ran the cable inside, through the grommet, next to the harness. Finally, I water-proofed around the cable, harness and grommet with caulking.

The link below shows the CB ariel on my Classic.

Heres where I put mine. I mounted a 4' firestick with a spring on a piece a 1/2" barstock attached to the spare mount and bent so it just protrudes above the spare between the spare and the glass. the antenna has 2/3s of its length above the roof line which is desirable for best operation. I ran the coax under the door near the hinge and under the carpet to the front. I mounted a compact cobra dx series radio on the passenger side of the tunnel near the shifter ( sideways) and I hang the mike on the front of the coin holder.
It works great and its the best mike holder I've ever seen.
good luck
