Hello All,

I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th.

I was in Houston this weekend on my way home to Dallas. I had 49,995 miles on the rig before departing. I switched the radio to CD and got the "CD Error" message. I tried to eject the CD magazine, but it never popped out. Has this ever happened to anyone and how did you resolve it?

Thanks in Advance,

Gerry

This happened to me about 3 months in my '03 Disco. I looked at it and couldn't figure out a way to get it out. I ended up taking it back to the LR dealership and told them to fix it since it was under warranty. They said the cd changer was bad and had to replace it.

I know that isn't much help but maybe if you pull out the entire CD changer you can find a way to manual eject the cartridge. Also maybe a friendly call to the LR service might give you some clues how they deal with this problem.

CD Magazine Out

Hey All,

I finally got the magazine out. I did some internet searches (of course) and found this a common problem with the Alpine CD Audio Changer.

I found that slipping a thin piece of cardboard (Birthday Card), under the magazine and then pressing upward on the magazine while you hit eject pops it out. In my case my CD was stuck and would not return back into the magazine tray, so mine took several tries before popping out. I notice that this occurs more often when the magazine gets hot, like after the truck sits in the sun all day. I now wait till the AC cools the truck, before I change from radio to CD.

Thanks All,

Gerry

My changer works fine but if I come to a quick stop or break while going over a speed bump the radio stops and then I get the "code" message. I haven't decided to fix this or just a a head unit that reads MP3 files. That way I can get the same amount of music on one cd that I can in the disc changer without having to go down on the the passenger seat.

Sounds like you have it all taken care of but for future reference those MP3 head units are pretty nice.
