Change 5 speed to auto trans

Currently have a 96 5 speed D1 but have found a 98 D1 auto trans. Can the transmissions be swapped and how hard and/or expensive is it to do. Has anybody here done that and what were the results?

Never mind, the parts truck I was going to use has sold. I agree with the rest of you, I'll sell it and buy a newer auto. Thanks for all the replys.

Don't hack up a 5-speed. Sell it whole if you want an auto.

x2 on just getting an auto. If yours was a '95 I'd trade you my '97 auto.

Nice. I just picked up an R380 and LT 230 to drop in my RRC.
