Is that normal? I see two places for threaded holes for bolts and bracket is bent back tword the firewall. It makes the job all the more of a PITA. Can anyone think of a reason why its bent

If I had to guess I would say someone bent it back in order to get the plenum off because the top of the bracket hooks over the back of the plenum. They were to lazy to remove the lower bolts which are a pain in the ass to get to.
Most likely to change valve cover gaskets.

woooo hoooo YES did it following the land rover forms. Taking all the stuff from the sides and removing the wire looms at the end of the manifold I got it done in about an hour without taking the manifold off. I thought it would need my wifes hands but I just had her mark where the wires went. Made a box and placed a dot on the coil where it went. and then taped it on the wire after I put it on. Just as I got it done the snow started and really came down hard. So now the roads are already covered and my rover is a warm safe place. While I was at it I found the valve covers on finger tight. So thats why oil was all over. and the check engine light is off. HAHAHAH> This rocks
