CHEAP Disco parts (and MG wheels)- bumpers, a-bar, '04 DII 16's etc

In an effort to recover some room in my garage:

D1 bumper- w/end caps, trimmed for clearance. Keep your fancy bumper with fog lamps uncut and use this one instead. Cost: One 6 pack of Old Peculiar or 8 Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stouts.

04 Disco S model bumper- uncut, unmodded. Cost: Two six-packs of old Peculiar or two bottles of a Merlot from Oregon or Washington State. (would also consider a decent sized brisket)

D1 Stainless a-bar- In very good shape, OEM. On my D1, I had to remove the plastic license plate thingie on the bumper because it seemed to be a tight fit. I don't know if my Disco was/is bent or of the brackets on this a-bar are slightly off. Cost: four six-packs of Old Peculiar or two Dinkel Acker keg cans.

Set of 5 stock 7-spoke 2004 Discovery wheels with NEW BFG TA/KO's in 245-75-16. Less than 1,000 miles on them, they still have the little rubber boobies on the tyres. $1300

For the MG enthusiast- Four bolt-on 14" Minilite replicas (Minitor, made in U.K.) with Dunlop Sport 195-60's. Wheels have been mounted on a project car, but never driven. Tyres are absolutely brand new, never seen use. MG logo caps. Perfect shape! Cost: $600

Here's the catch- come get 'em only. I don't have time to ship any of this stuff. Located in Northern VA. I can meet ya within a reasonable distance.

Hi Steve,

Interested in the Stainless A-Bar. I can only pick it up on weekends, so it might be this coming weekend, or the following, as I'll be driving down from NYC. Where in Northern VA are you located?

I'm in South Riding- 4 miles West of Rt 28 (chantilly) on Rt 50.

This weekend would work- I'll be home after 1PM each day. The following weekend- not sure... was hoping to hit GWNF and get muddy.

Hmm- I think in the world of internet etiquette, first poster has 'dibs'
I *do* need this stuff gone as soon as possible though. Alvin- up to you!
I can't get to my lawnmower and other stuff with all these parts and stuff in the way.

The only thing I could do would be to drop it at a retail pack-n-ship... where they'd charge a fortune for packaging etc. Last time I tried that with something this size, they refused it. I just don't have the time and patience to wrap it up and try to get to UPS during their office hours etc.

Depending on how badly you want it out of the way ...

You could remove the end caps and the front cladding and box them separately. That leaves you with the metal shell of the bumper. That needs no boxing at all. Tape an address label on it and either UPS or FedEx ground will take it and it won't be particularly expensive. I ship leaf springs like that all the time and I guarantee one pack of leafs weighs more than that entire bumper.

If I get some time to dork with it- I'll measure and weigh it... it's about 1,264 on my list of 2,000 things I have to do. I just got married a few days ago so it's a little bit of chaos around here.
FWIW- I removed the headlamp washers and the license plate portion- the plastic centre section.. not sure if I have that license plate mount thingie.
The bumper was used to send an F150 to a junk yard, but doesn't appear any more worn than any other D1 bumper.

I don't need the center cladding or the license plate thing anyway. All I need are the metal portion of the bumper and the end caps. Understand it's a pain in the arse, but I'll take it off your hands as long as it's straight.

End caps

I just need the end caps. If nothing comes through and you can ship, I'll take 'em.

Almost- I just need more space in the garage to HIDE things from her. :D I gave away my blasting cabinet and my engine hoist already... On the up-side, she said I could buy a 74 Range Rover. On the down-side, I think I need to sell my MG though.

How much for the MG?

Is it be fast?

I would have been happy to have your engine hoist, do you think I could fit it in the MG?

:)

If you guys shoot me an email at MGBGTRacer at aol dot com, I can get some pics of the wheels AND the car. The B isn't running right now, I am installing a new sidedraft weber on it and doing a Delco conversion on the alternator. Haven't had time to finish it up. The body is starting to need attention- it's not bad, yet. It's won shows in the past couple years, but it's a race car and it's showing some age.
The wheels are available- located in South Riding.

And please- no more PM's about selling my 04 Disco wheels without the BFG's on 'em. No, I will not sell 5 new wheels for $400.

Steve, I didn't see that JH also wanted the A-Bar. As I am having a little bit of difficulty getting some time off to go buy you your beer, and he is so close to you, I think I'm gonna let him take it. I really would like it, but I don't think it's fair to make you wait. Thanks for the offer, though.

Lots of email- no action- who is coming to get this stuff?

I can bring any of this stuff to the DC Rover get-together at Roverland on the 16th.
