Check Engine Code P0430 - Catalytic Converter

Just replaced the two O2 sensors (Bosch) on my '96 D1 located after the catalytic converters. A week later check engine code P0430 (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)) popped up. Engine still runs smooth.

I cleared the code and after a day of driving, the check engine light hasn?t returned. I don?t hear anything rattling in my catalytic converters. If the code doesn?t pop up again, does that mean my catalytic converter is fine. Should I be expecting the same code to pop up again? Does this mean I will need to replace the catalytic converter on the passenger side?

Also, anybody have any experience regarding replacing catalytic converters within California since the stricter California laws became effective Jan 1, 2009? From what I understand, they need to be specially stamped indicating a specific date and model.

Well I didn't purchase the cat yet and I've been clearing the code whenever it popped up which seems to happen 1-2 times per week for a month. It has been several weeks now and the check engine light doesn't seem to be coming back. Light bulb is fine. Can I assume it fixed itself?

You only replaced the back two, not the front two? Some times, even though expensive, it is a good idea to replace all four. But with your mileage, not knowing your driving style, it could be time for new cats.
