From the article you posted:

"But apparently the numbers are a bit deceiving because GM is reportedly boosting production to meet demand and the car is ?virtually sold out,? according to another report."

They've sold so few of them because they've made so few of them.

GM temporarily halts production of Volt

Kris, you've repeatedly wrote in the past that the GM sold as many of the Volts as they could make. From GM spokesman Chris Lee: "We needed to maintain proper inventory and make sure that we continued to meet market demand."

Maybe you could explain simple business to me Kris. Usually when a company shuts down production, it's because they are making too much of a product, not too little.

Consumer Reports was not impressed.

$48,000 before $7500 tax credit

Doesn't like cold weather

Consumer Reports on Monday said its tests showed the battery's range at a paltry 23 to 28 miles in cold weather, far below the 40 miles originally promised.

That's a round trip of 12-14 miles during the winter.
Had a friend that bought a Volt that tax credit is a sticky one. If you did not buy the car within a few months of the year you will not get a tax credit. And he was screwed, yes he can deduct it but it will be a hell of alot less then almost 8K. The car is nice and gets great gas milage but if you have a car that is paid for not worth it, even with the rise in gas prices.

I think Noee meant GM, and in any case, they've repaid their bailout, and are well into the black this year. No stimulus, unless you count the Bush Tax cuts...

What is wrong with tax cuts? Seriously! I just do not understand this? If there are less taxes people will spend money. Shaking my head... It is clear that our government can not spend taxes wisely.

Sometimes I really wonder if you were dropped on your head.
