Child seats in RRC

Anyone have any pics of child seats in an RRC? I'd like to fit 3 across. Recently, I inquired about SWB vs LWB for family/camping duties. The "brain trust" spoke highly of LWB, so that's what I'm pursuing.

If anyone can show me their child seats in the back, it would help my cause greatly.

Thanks.

I don't think you can fit 3 car seats side by side in any Land Rover.
You'll probably need something full size.

That being said, since mine are pre-airbags, I can put a car seat in the front.

Sadly, I have a minivan already... The RRC would be the "camping" vehicle. Plans are/were to review a LWB on Friday.

Ideally, the LWB would tow a small camping trailer every once in a while (like a pop-up) and my son and I would use it to get away from the girls on the weekends.

There's got to be a way. Can anyone tell me what the cross-car width is of the rear seat with the doors closed? How much room would I have to work with?

thanks.

54" at the most narrow point where a carseat(s) would be.

Getting three in there would be tricky. Securing them is another can of worms. You might have to resort to ratchet straps to augment the seatbelts.

I know, not a great idea but I think that it could be done in such a way as the seats would not move.

We've tried with various car seats and it just does not work to have 3 across. The overall width from door to door is not the issue, it is thhe fact that the wheel well intrudes on the back seats that causes the problem. The outboard seats end up being pushed in slightly to keep them from being angled. I presume that you could have seats at an angle and possibly get 3 across. Also, keep in mind that the middle seat does not have a should belt so whatever car seat you put in the middle needs to have it's own 5 point harness.

F!ck. Not the answer's I was hoping for. This is turning into a "may need to look for a Tahoe/Suburban" discussion with the missus.

Are any of the kids big enough for booster seats? Not sure how that would work since the middle is still only a lap belt...

You may have to go the Sub/Tahoe/Yuke route to fit that many car seats.

I loved my '98 Tahoe (RIP). Had I not totaled it I might still be driving it and making fun of Rovers.

My dads' '99 four door is still going strong.

Every other Chevy/GMC of that body style likely has 'Sanchez' in old English script in the rear window.

I've had two booster seats inthe RRC and it's about the same problem as the baby car seat. The bases are wide enough that three would be a squeeze.

Funny thing is I test drove a 98 Suburban yesterday, it would definitely fit my kid and herd of dogs. Talk about huge and roomy.

I have two car seats in my LWB and there is room between them for a thin person, but not another car seat. Same with my P38. If you have three kids, look at an SE7 Disco, or a suburban.

I had three kids in the back of my D1 two weekends ago for highway and off road driving. Its cozy to put it nicely. My 6 and 4 year olds are in high back boosters and they were on the left and right sides. My 2 year old is in a regular forward facing 5 point harnass child seat. No Latch in the Disco so had to use the center lap belt. The biggest issue regarding room back there is that the wheel well arches start to interfere with the seat bases.

This was in a D1 of course, I'm not sure about the RRC's.

Here's a pic of my three in the back seat from that trip.
