Thanks to everyone with input on swapping out my 4.o for the 4.6.

I Posted this under my original post "Block is done. 4.0 or 4.6 swap?" but figured it was easier to read without the rest of the post as engine is now swapped and its time to figure out some resulting codes.

UPDATE.

I had the shop swap out my 4.0 for a 4.6 out of a 2004 D2 w/ 30k on it. They used my 4.0 harness and ecu, but told me they had to make some modifications to the harness to make it fit, but Im not sure exactly what modifications. I am going to try to find that out today.

I have not been able to get it down to Cityside to have it reprogramed yet, but intent to in near future after I replenish my funds a bit.

Seems to be running well, but not optimum. Some slight roughness occasionally when stopped, but no missfires codes stored or pending. Preetty smooth while driving.

MIL light came on and is giving me codes: p0447, p0150, p0714, p1174.

p0447 EVAP vent control circuit open code. Could this be from the way they put the 4.0 harness on the 4.6?

p0150 o2 circuit malfunction Bank 2, Sensor 1. Will check the wiring, but might be due to all the coolant dumping past it from the block issue.

p0714 Transmission temp. sensor curcuit intermittent. perhaps bad conmnection when refitted?

p1174 not sure as I didn't see a listing and dont have my RAVE CD at work with me.

Also now after a few drive cycles have p1415 SAI bank 1 error.

Anyone have any ideas on the codes? Other than the o2 code, none of the others seem related to my engine going south and the swap unless it is in the harness or connectors. And none of those codes were present before the swap.

Both the original 4.0 and 4.6 are both with SAI

Thanks,

John.

Im VERY curious what they did to the harness. I did absolutely nothing to my harness except clean the contacts and have only one error code related to the O2 sensor (but that is my fault as i got mean with them on the swap.)

I talked to them and they told me that it really wasn't so much modifying the harness as he told me before, but I guess the tech just had to reroute them back into the propper positions around the bay. The person I talked to was telling me it would be ready later in day, the other day because the tech needed to modify the harness, but I guess it was just some miscommunication.

Still have the codes though. Im hoping to look around in there later today and check the connections, especially the purge seleniod, o2, and SAI valve connections to make sure nothing is dissconected or swapped.
