I think the 65 quart model is way too big for a Disco. I've got an Engel 45 and haven't yearned for a bigger model thus far.

The Engel 45 barely fits length-wise in a Disco 1. You have to remove the handles in order to be able to close the door.

Engel 45 fits perfect in the rear of my D2.

The bottom Pelican carries my recovery gear and tools. That stays constant no matter what trip I'm on.

Now that I have a rack, it's a rare occasion where I need to put a second Pelican inside the truck, but for that particular trip, the second Pelican carried my food, clothing, sleeping bag, emergency gear.

Nice. I'll have to look into those. I'm a big believer in enclosing your stuff inside your rig. So many people get injured every year from stuff flying into their head from their vehicles.

Has anyone field tested the Coleman Stirling? For $389 at Costco and a 27 quart capacity it seems like it would be a good contender being sized between the Engel 22 and 35. Just curious if would handle the off road abuse we put equipment through.

My father has one of the old school Coleman metal coolers (70's era) and we used that at Watkins Glen race weekend a few summers ago. I would say in the 90's both days and that cooler kept ice well thru the weekend and still very cold into part of the follwing week (those last few Labatts Blue). I was very impressed with it and I would love to get my hands on one. Removeable trays in side, metal outer skin, real metal handles and nice latch to keep it all secure. I do look on ebay trying to find one similar, but I'm a little iffy about buying a used cooler.
