My gf and I have the opportunity to move to either the SF Bay Area or Denver. I've come up with some pro's and con's of both but am wondering what yooz guys think. I lived in Palo Alto for a few years and loved it. Never lived in Denver, but it sounds fun.

Denver: Rocky Mountains, snow bunnies,

Nor Cal: Pacific Ocean, Tahoe, wine country, hippies

Any thoughts?

Denver!

I've spent extended time in both areas. I'd prefer Denver for any number of reasons. But mostly cost of living and access to great outdoors.

The term Nor Cal, or SF Bay Area, doesn't mean anything.

It can be a fantastic city like San Francisco, or something like Fremont (as boring as Denver), or a 'hood like West Oakland. Take your pick.

My vote is for Denver. I'd move there in a heartbeat if given the opportunity. But I'd also move to Nor Cal if given the opportunity.

If you like the outdoors, Colorado is tops.

Ok, San Francisco vs. Denver. I shudder at the cost of SF tho.

Looks like Denver's winning so far...

I'll vote for Denver.. cost of living and the great outdoors at your disposal. Also, California is going to fall into the ocean or something.. Learn to swim, see you down at Arizona Bay.

I grew up in the Bay and currently live in the Denver area(3 yrs now). I'm actually going to move back to the bay in 2009.

Nor Cal - Diversity in people and food, Napa, Beaches, easy drive to So. Cal and short drive to Tahoe. Higher salaries, housing prices are coming down and comparable to parts of Denver, weather is nice all year round. There always seems to be something to do. If you guys are young, you have all the clubs/lounges/bars in SF, Oakland and San Jose. You've got the 49ers, Raiders, Giants, A's, Warriors, Sharks.

Denver - Great if you love the outdoors; hiking, fishing, camping, biking and climbing. Easier to commute around the Denver area, great education system, lots of breweries, lots of ski resorts to choose from and 100's of FREE offroading trails to choose from.

Thanks. This is pretty much the list I came up with as well.

Those of you fellas who prefer Denver to SanFran have no clue of what city life is.

I am not a big city guy, either. But I can certainly appreciate that there's another side to life, besides the boonies.
Happy New Year, wherever you get off your rock[er]s!
