Great for hybrid project or for parts.

Engine needs work, fairly new transmission and transfer case, alloys. If I had time, I'd part the mofo out, but I don't.

Asking $2000, located in Los Angeles are.

Oh, yeah, if you mention Discoweb, and it sells through DWeb, Ho will get $100 (5%).

Hey Eric,

It's 1994, green, OME HD all around and it does run. In fact, I drove it to EE to buy brake pads last Fri. Let me know if you're interested in pics.

I should probably clarify the "engine needs work" statement. About 2 1/2 years ago, it started making a knocking sound. It has gotten progressivelylouder, but the vehicle itself drives fine, can cruise on the fwy at 75mph all day.

At that time, I was told by a local mechanic who shall remain nameless (unless you really must know), it was probably the rockers. Paid the guy to check them. Said that wasn't the problem, maybe it was the lifters, so I had him replace the lifters. That didn't help because the next day, it started doing it again.

Took it to another local, well known shop a few months later. Said the engine just needed to be replaced, at 175K, it was 'tired'. They did find that 1/2 the bank of injectors needed replacing, so I had them replace all 8. That was 12,000 miles ago. It starts up fine, runs very nice and quiet until it warms up, then the knocking starts.

The sound stops at moments and then just starts again, weird.

So, the long winded answer is that it runs, I don't know what's wrong, paid too much to figure it out, and I get taken for a ride every time I ask, $2500 later, I'm nowhere nearer to resolving it.

Hence, my reason for posting it as a good parts car or for a project. If I didn't have my '66 Series undergoing a frame transplant, I'd probably have this turned into a 100" hybrid. But that would be one project too many.

It has many little issues that someone with patience can sort out. The windows, sunroofs, doors have problems here and there.

Hope I can find a good home for it. Between getting similar trade in value (knowing it's going to be junked) and finding a good home, I'd rather do the latter.

I think that your rear license plate frame gives away your mechanic that suckered you in the beginning. British Car Service are the biggest cons out there. Beware of these guys.

Java too bad I didn't know about this otherwise I would have never gone to them in the first place.

Good luck on the sale.

lol, thanks, dude... it comes at a high price, though. Weekend repairs on all but the '03 Disco are very common. When I get my Series IIA back, that's just going to make it worse. So you see my dilemma, and why the Disco can't stay.

I've put so much money into this Disco, none of which I expect to recover.

RRoverPaisa, when did get the '70 IIA?

bump, $1800 anyone? C'mon guys... I know more than one of you wants a hybrid, or a parts vehicle. You can part it out and make money several times over.

I'd hate to donate it to charity, get a small tax deduction, just to find out it would be scrapped.

Hi,

At the moment, I only drive it on short trips around town. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it to NorCal *after* I replace the rear driveshaft someone just gave me.

OK, another driveshaft has been installed. It is now driveable on longer trips.

Any takers for a great project vehicle?

Java, I hope your finger is doing better after that new drive shaft install. Guys theres a little flesh and blood invested in this Disco. Please help him recover the medical bills.

I also thought I'd help you with a quick Bump.
