complete radio fade out in reverse

so my factory radio in my 96 has been deciding on it's own when it wants to work. the past two days the radio has decided to work, which has been nice. usually the red alarm light just flashes at me. so, today as i'm parking in my driveway with the radio working the radio concidently faded out when i dropped the rover into reverse. thinking it may have been the music, i was listening to some techno, i didn't pay much attention until the music concidently started playing again when i shifted into drive. curious. so, i shifted back into reverse. music died. back into drive. music back on. back into reverse. no music. back into drive. yeah, music. finally, shifted back to reverse, no music, then to park and the music came back on.

what the hell is going on?

anybody else ever deal with this?

i did a search and came up with nothing but that doesn't mean i didn't miss something.

thats pretty wierd

is it consistant every time in the timing of the music cut out with the reverse switch?

Do the reverse lights work?
