I suspected as much, but was hoping I was wrong.
Hot engine, 6 cranks each

My condolences. But first do a wet test. Squirt a teaspoonful of oil into each cylinder in turn and record those readings. If the readings come up, then it's the bottom end; plan on spending some major coin. Little or no change is actually good news....

Yeah, that was my next test. But based on having overheated, loss of power and blow back, I'm confident they won't change much.

Well, valves and head work are cheaper than dealing with an entire engine rebuild or replacement. Good luck to ya'....
