I'm studying for the exam. Looking at some of the practice exams, it seems to have a lot of minutial questions, like how many pins on X memory, or which socket fits Y processor. Does the exam really have this much detail? Any words of advice?
Wow, I haven't seen an A+ in a long time. It is indeed that detailed, and in my opinion it's all a bunch of seriously outdated bullshit. I've never needed to know how many pins were on a SIMM from 1995 or that "slot-A" fits the first gen Athlon "chip-on-a card" processors. Network+ is a different story though.
Wow, haven't heard that term in years. Is it still supposed to be the equivalent of a repair tech on the job for 6 months? I think my book had practice exams. Most were about fixing dot matrix printers
iirc i took my a+(both hard and software), sec+ and net+ back in '06 and yes, many questions went into stupid detail. review the night before, know your ports and basics of connectivity and you'll do fine.
