As far as I know there isnt an active CT group. Is someone here starting or thinking of starting one? As far as I know there is no legal offroading in CT. I hear rumors of allowed public land (Voluntown? Some marked but unpaved public roads?) but not found them myself. lowwill, where in Hamden? I grew up in Hamden. Still have family in Hamden but we kinda spread out lately.

Benton St.(one way) off of State by the DMV. Amtrak, auto auction is down the road. I went to this trail in North Haven the other day behind the game(go-carts track) off of rt.22 . Has all types of trails through there. Guess years ago some guy that owns it turned it into a 4x4 site and was turned down by the state. So many different obstacles/trails fucking sweet back there. Buddy at work told me to stay out cause the State/Dep police will hang you back there(private land). Guess I got lucky for a 1/2 hr. Oh well fun while it lasted....We really need to start something soon cause a nagging wife and whiney kid is driving me to drink more. Cheers

There are actually some nice legal areas for a scenic drive and CT is not a bad place to start something organized. You can actually find most roads on a GPS. I've thought about mapping some if I ever get some free time.

Is it anything special around here? No, not really. Though some of the roads can be fun during the wet months, especially when washed out. However, many are graded every spring/summer and aren't really worth much that time of year.

If anyone does want to get something going I can say I would be an active member. Post up on some of the other boards and see what type of response you can generate. Also, anyone can send me a PM if they want to take this to emails.

Any knowledge of active clubs in CT or anyone go for trail rides? I know someones out there. Im in glastonbury.

I'm in Marlborough:cool: . Look at all the trail deprived CT guys. I feel your pain. I've had mine for about 8 months and the only off roading I did was up on the cape driving on the beach. Guess it's better than nothing. I'd love to go play in the snow

Sorry I missed your last posts. I'm still trying to figure out a good run I can lead, but everything I've checked out so far has been kinda lame.

I'm still working on something though, I just want to pre-run it. Post up if you're free any of the next couple weekends.

Hello Folks:

Some-time lurker here. I too looking for some central CT trail companionship or active rover group -- or, for that matter, some central CT trails! It's tough to find the sweet spot between wanna-be, uninsured "monster" truck-type people and drivers of expensive grocery-getters. Looking to meet up with some folks interested in learning more about roving and using our trucks the way they're meant to be used. Sorry to be late to the party, but would love to be active in a local group. Anyone ... Bueller ?
