Was just looking for some other engine mx information and found the WM does include an illustration that should have easily cleared up the routing question earlier. R&R of thermostat page attached.
My '04 is routed exactly as yours is and I have no ballooning hose or overheating issues after doing my recent drain, flush and refill. Unfortunately LR didn't do a very good illustration job when they published the Workshop Manual and Illustrate Parts.
Sort of good news, just found another photo of one installed trying a bing search rather than google.
OK, thanks! I haven't been able to work on it much for a number of factors, but should be able to check it out this weekend. I have a spare thermostat that I am going to try and to rule that out.
