My 98 d1 looses some coolant, looks like it pools to the passenger side reared the motor, on the valley pan. I also get some just below the t-stat housing, but just traces. Last night it hemorrhaged coolant onto the ground from the rear after a 14 mi drive, but today same drive, minimal leak. Yes the resevoir is full. Is this typical of the valley pan gasket? I can't see the exact spot of the leak, even with dye. No overheating by obd2 reader.

That's where my head gasket blew, right out the rear coolant passage. Clean it really well back there and see if its near the top of the head or the bottom near the block.
Mine did the same thing last year and it turned out to be loose intake manifold bolts. Rear drivers side especially.
