My 98 D1 w/ 95K started spitting coolant (approx. 1 cup) from the expansion tank cap after running the AC and shutting the truck off. Per the temp gauge, no overheating issues. I determined the condenser fans were out and replaced them. Fans work fine, but problem persisted. So I pulled the radiator and took it to the local shop- radiator is in great condition. Replaced the thermostat, checked water pump, added new water/ coolant mixture, still have the issue.

Fan seems to be working fine, but rotates 5 to 10 revolutions after turning off the truck. Could my fan clutch be bad?

My take- the condenser fans went bad, I didn't realize and overtaxed some component of the cooling system, or the head gasket is starting to go. There is no oil in coolant or coolant in oil. It seems air is getting into the system some how.

What is the next course of action? Pressure test?

Anyone have any ideas?

Anyone know of a good shop in Tampa?

BTW- I've had the truck for 7yrs/ 70k miles with basically no issues, unitl now!
