I have had a small but constant coolant leak coming from the drivers side engine. I could not locate the source for months.

Yesterday I found out where it was coming from. The water pump bolts had come lose and coolant was able to seep out. I managed to get a wrench up there and tighten the bolts. No more leak!! Just thought I would share my findings, so other members having a unknown leak like mine might discover they have lose water pump bolt as I did.

Okay, I have to report that after a week drip free it's all over! I got back from work to discover a large pond of coolant under the Rover. So the water pump is getting replaced.
I am also going to have the work done at Land Rover of Portland. this is due to the fact that Columbia Rovers wanted 500.00, PDX Rovers wanted 560.00 and Land rover of Portland will do it for 322.00. I have noticed that the dealership is finding good after market parts and trying to beat out the local competition. Having a bad experience at Columbia Rovers, I am going to be giving Land Rover of Portland a chance to earn my trust. I will be reporting back on my experience at the dealership here in Portland Oregon.
I would do the pump myself however my work schedule will not allow me the time.

Don't be surprised if it turns out to be the chest gasket and the sump et al have to be removed.

Okay, job done. very easy job, I give it 1 out of 10 on difficulty. I decided to do the work myself. I went with a Meyle pump. This job is so easy I can't believe I almost paid to have it done.

Please keep my Dad in your prayers as he went in to day for a triple bypass.
He is only 65 and in good health, other then his arteries. Thank you everybody!

I promise you, Land Rover PDX is not the place to go. I know you did this yourself but in the future I would steer clear of them.

I totally get that feeling. But why do you say this? ...

"Hope your pops is ok"
Thank you. I just camE back from seeing him. so far so good. They will start to wake him up soon. I just hope that the pain is not too bad. It's very hard to see your loved one in that condition. I have been a wreck all day.
