Now that I have my truck running really well, I notice that it leaks quite a bit of coolant when it's hot. Specifically from the bottom hose/water pump joint and up around the gaskets in the thermostat housing. My best guess is that I removed the heater tubing and plugged both the in and out openings. One in the bypass housing and the other in my thermostat housing. Is it possible that by doing this I'm getting pressure to build that is causing coolant to leak from the above joints? I'm wondering if I put a small hose connecting the two if it will solve my problem by allowing some coolant to always flow past the thermostat reducing pressure buildup. The truck does not seem to be overheating at all. As it cools down after turning the engine off, the leak begins to slow.
