well the air sus. isn't that bad but i could be improved. The car is still in the shop after a week and they had to put a new EAS compressor in it(under warranty somehow) and a new eas mount for it because i broke it off-road(have to pay for it). The reason the eas failed was water and mud, just too much of it. And a service guys pulled off one of the air lines and water came out:eek: so pretty much this was all my doing. They have to figure out what else is wrong with the car and they had it on the comp. for 3 hours and still couldn't figure it out. But they still haven't cleaned out the sensors under the car yet.Hopefully it will be ready when i get back from NC.

The manager of LRN told me not to go off-road for a while since their about to recall the eas system and i won't because I don't want to beat on it anymore.

I'd say, "Sure, but since I can only use half the trucks capablities, I'm only going to pay half my car payment until it's fixed."

I just put a set of the new tread pattern Cooper STT's on my Defender - so far I'm very impressed with the road manners and handling. They are less noisy than the BFG M/T's I had on it - haven't had a chance to try them out off road yet but they look very aggressive and a guy who works the same place as I do said they work very well in mud - he runs them on a 4WD Ford Ranger pickup he uses for hunting.

Wait arn't those airlines? shouldn't they be airtight, and by default water tight? EAS is one of those things that if LR could just get it sorted out would be the greatest thing to ever hapen to suspension. I have OME coils on my D1 and they are great off-road and when I need to hual junk, but while just driving around town they kind of suck. They jsut aren't supple enough. The LR3s and RRs I driven with EAS seem to work just as well offroad and better on the road, but I don't like how it lowers itself to save the CVs. If the same set-up were on a solid axel rig and it were reliable it would be killer. As it is I'm a few months away from probably buying a Range Rover so I'll be ready to join you in the search for proper suspension.

It exists: www.roverspecialties.com - it's called the AiRock system and it's pretty awesome. I've been trying to figure a way to install it on my coiler LR3

Happened to be at Ford's "Premier Automotive Group's North American Headquarters last night. Saw a silver LR3 in the parking garage with DST plates (dealer?) that had the European Goodyear Wrangler A/T's 255/55/18's. Looked really nice. Agressive tread, yet smallish size. Pretty interesting I thought, seeing as how you can't buy them here...

But I did break the mount that hold the EAS compressor so it could have popped off or when the compressor was trying to fill the tank it sucked up water from an obstacle I was in. But the wierd thing is i've had water up to the bottom of my hood and didn't have any problems witht he car after that.

I wheel with these guys here in MN. That system is unbelievable. If someone puts that in an LR3 and makes it work I will be more than impressed. Ive seen it first hand out on the trail. Litterally unstopable. Especially on tricky off camber spots and places where you need a ton of clearance. Each wheel (Air Bag) is completely adjustable independently!!!
