Crankcase vent system 95 D1

Been researching my crankcase vent system looking for vacuum leaks or plugs. Had a high pitched whistle one mechanic thought was crankcase over pressure venting thru front main seal! Ugly sounding idea!

I found a canister with "brillo pad" stuffing on top of right rocker arm cover with hoses to intake runner. LR shop manual says replace or at least soak in mineral spirits and air dry.

Also says a make-up air filter is on top of lft rocker arm cover under throttle bracket. Not on my rig.

Lft rocker are covered has a small air port on top near rear of cover. Mine had a rotted hose which I tracked down to under the jack by the air filter. Then it just stopped.

Any one 1) Have the filter on lft rocker arm cover and 2) Know where vent hos connects?

I've seen the vent on Defenders, but not on Discos. The hose should run to the clean side of the air filter, or to an aux filter on the dirty side of the air filter box.
