I didin't read all the posts, but my mechanic told me that switching to a K/N filter would alter the airflow to the engine and it would get confused or something like that...bottom line was that switching was a bad idea.

Regarding dirty injectors - What about the fuel injector cleaners that you buy off the shelf and pour into a tank of fuel? Are they worth it, do they do more good or harm? If they are good to use can you recomend a certain one?

Thanks

My old Disco got about 13 or so, maybe 15 on the highway. I'm selling it into slavery, or maybe having it dismembered for general evil behaviors... (i.e., I'm selling it or parting it out because it's a lemon ;) )

I have a '02 Disco II that I just got, and am loving it! This past weekend, got nearly 18 MPG highway, with a minimum of city and off-road activity mixed in that. With this being my daily driver, I still average about 15 or so, with city driving usually being about 14. I'm happy with those numbers.

Sure would be nice to improve that, but I know it will only get worse as I add all the nice bits of off-road kit I want. Skid plates and bull bar and safari rack and so on and so forth... :D
