It worked on a long road trip in June. Tried to use it yesterday and it wouldn't work. The orange light would come on when I pushed the button but that's about it. What should I be checking and in what order?

or the switch fuse is blown. On a DII the fuse is under the hood and is the same fuse as the horn, worth a try. Otherwise read the shop manual/Rave CD and troubleshoot.

Like others of mentioned, check your vacum lines. Trace them from the little pump under the jack all the way back for dried/cracked ends or breaks in the tube. The other thing to consider too is the ECM for the cruise might be dead. I replaced mine several years ago when everything else looked like it was fine.

The control unit is located behind the glove box. Not complicated to change but a pain in the butt to access the screws holding it in. If it is that, take the glove box out first to give yourself some room. Replaced it back then and my cruise worked again. I recently had to re-end my vacuum lines as they had dried and split resulting in the cruise not working. Re-ended them and now I have cruise again.

Thanks for all the replies. They would have been helpful if I wasn't a complete tard. Turns out the cruise didn't stop working, I just forgot how to set it. I was holding the SET button too long and it wasn't taking. On my van you have to press and momentarily hold the set button for it to take but on the Disco its just a quick press.

Good news is I'm not a tard. Bad news is there is something wrong with the cruise. I set the cruise tonight at 50mph and it worked for about 10 seconds. Then it cut out and I could not get it to "cruise" again. Does this sound like an electrical issue?

Mine was also intermittent. it needed the switch on the brake pedal adjusted.small bumps would bounce the pedal just enough to trip it out....

Haven't checked the vacuum lines yet but I'm thinking it might be the switch on the brake pedal. Is the switch you're referring to the brake light switch or is it a different one?
I had to replace the brake light switch back in June and had to do some jerry rigging to get it to seat properly and make contact.
