Two weeks ago at Rausch creek I bent my lower rear shock mount. Last weekend at the cove I basically flattened it against the axle. What are my options for repairing/reinforcing it? I'm not opposed to cutting them off and welding something better on, but I'm not sure what my best option might be(no 4-link and toyota axle swap suggestions...at least not yet)

Cut them off and weld something better that doesn't hang down so far. I don't remember the diameter of the axle housing but it wouldn't be hard to figure out, get a lower mount that fits that.

The wheels I have now have a decent amount of backspacing. They leave my rear lower shock mounts out away from the tire exposing them to damage by rocks. Will my shocks still operate properly if I relocate the new lower mounts farther out on the axle closer to the tire?

see you at main jambo?

Possibly, but unlikely. All of my friends that were into Jeeps (dana 60's, full hydro, 40's ext.) have gotten out of off roading for the most part. I need to put the motor in my RRC. I'd like to go to the Rover event at the Cove if I even get around to finishing my 4.6 build.
