Yep, the hammer was the trick, whoever owned the truck previously used some hellacious gasket stuff, it just did not want to let go. All is back together, seems fine now.
As for the 92 part, I thought the same thing when I bought it. The VIN shows it as a 92, but it has no ABS, etc.. The CV that went in was out of a 91 Range, so who knows? 10 spline, but not the newer set up. It does not have the seat memory like the 92s either, not that I give a crap. Less is better, happy not to have the ABS. Maybe it is a mongrel..
Also no heated seats, dimmingrear view mirror, etc all the things commonly listed on a 92 County. Maybe I should dig around on the VIN, see if it was chopped up, but some things are from the 92. Cigarette lighter is on the right not the left, whatever. It is so ugly I just have to keep it, now if I can just sell the TJ I will have some more money for parts.
