Just sold my 2003 D2 with the 18" wheels and keep my 16" set. The tires are General Grabber AT2 - 245 75 R16. Will these fit on my new purchase, a 1997 D1 300TDi? Will there be any rubbing? Would adding a 1" lift help? Thanks. The tires are only 4 months old so if I could keep them and just sell the D2 rims, that would save the purchase of another set of tires. The tires that came with the truck look pretty lame and I doubt they'd do much off road.

I run 245 7516 on my D1 with stock springs and I didn't need new bumpstops. Everything clears at full flex. You will have to adjust the steering stops to eliminate rubbing on the front at full steering lock.

Why the hell would anyone need new bump stops for 245/75s? I've run both 255/70 and 235/85 with plenty of room.
