D1 4.0L gems engine ticking

I need a 4.6 for all the extra weight on the truck now! Am having the ypipe dropped next week for closer inspection of potential hairline weld cracks below the flange since this is only audible in the left wheel well

Check to see if it is the dreaded rocker arm cup condition that was prevalent in early GEMS trucks.

If it is, call me, I have the hook-up on rocker arms.


This is what it sounds like to me . Take the rocker shafts off and try to turn the insert in the rocker itself (its the insert that accepts the pushrod) . I put a pocket screw driver in the hole and cock it in there so you can try to turn the steel insert in the in the rocker.
