D1 Check engine light

How can I read the code on a D1? I have an 03 and have a reader. D1's are new to me.

The D1 has an OBD-2 port to the right of the steering column (as viewed from the driver's seat) just below the kick panel. Any decent code reader should be able to talk to it. Stick your head in the footwell and take a peek. It's not visible from the driving position but it's not exactly concealed once you're at foot level.

Then it is OBD-1. The reader should be under the passenger seat, read from the back seat passenger's footwell.

Its a little, black square box that has a red display for the numbers. Sometimes it's zip tied up on the seat rail but as Jimmy said, best to stick your head down by the back seat, passengers footwell to read it.

I think I know it. I’ve had the seat in and out many times working on rust repair.

It shows numbers if there is a code. To test it unplug the battery for a bit and when you hook it back up it should display an 02 for awhile.
