D1/D2 ash (coin) tray = same?

Are D1 and D2 spring loaded coin-trays/ash-trays interchangeable?

yes, but d1 didnt have a coin tray, cruise, fog light, and heated windshield switches went in its place

I'm going to pick-up an extra ash-tray to modify as a GPS mount in my 1995 RRC LWB. THen I can always revert to the original ash-tray.
