D1 & D2 back doors the same?

Are D1 & D2 rear (cargo) doors interchangeable? The back door on one of my D1's is in need of repair, but if a D2 door will fit, I'll just go that route.

IIRC they are different.

The hinges are the same and the actual metal frame (and window) is the same size and shape, but the lock/latch are different and in slightly different spots.

I think may be there is a diffefence in some holes, but both are stamped in the same shape.

Good to know, thanks. I would really like to know if anyone has made a D2 door fit a D1. The local wrecking yard has both '99 & '03 D2's, but I'm not a huge fan of spending a few hundred bucks on it only to find out they're not compatible.

Let us know if it will fit in the back of the Disco. That's as close as your going to get.

The only way one of those doors will work for you is if the '99 is really a Disco 1. Ask for the vin. Disco 1 will begin with SALJ and the other is SALT

Pretty sure I saw someone try this and abort due to subtle incompatibilities.
