I have a 1996 D1 with 187k miles on it. I am trying to trouble shoot some odd electrical issues. recently the rear windows on bith teh driver and passenger side no longer work. I have swapped out the switches with the front ones and switches are ok.

Strange enough is that they will sometimes work out of the blue. All the fuses are good. Also not working are the mirros and rear dorr wiper. is there a relay somewhere that is controling thiese items?

Any thoughts are appreciated

Just went through the same problem and used the above quoted tech section , I went ahead and resoldered all the connections on the board since I couldn't see any cracks, and lo and behold, my rear windows are now working. Good luck!

I recently re-soldered two DI Window ECU's according to that tech article and now both have all windows working.

**RIDDLE ME THIS** I had the same problem go figure, re-soldered the faulty solder reinstalled AND IT WORKED! Moved my truck to the other side of the yard now NO WINDOWS WORK, there is no reaction to any of the windows or switches front or rear - - Not even a clicking sound when one wasn't working before. There were no bumps when I repositioned the car in the backyard, and it was literally less than 15 ft. Is it possible something ELSE may be wrong (shorted/dislodged/unconnected) because I know all 4 of my motors did not just go out in 30 seconds simultaneously. PLLEEEAASSEE somebody tell me whats wrong.

But IT WORKED, the rear windows worked after the re solder, then I just moved the vehicle and there is nothing, not even a sound of a failing relay switch or motor etc. So It made me think something came undone or blew when i started the vehicle and moved it less than 15 ft. But you say window module aye? Would it have been possible for that to have blown/gone out within that short time frame???

The module could have blown in a fraction of a second if the conditions were right... The first thing I would do is to check fuses since you are not even getting a clicking sound... If they are OK, then recheck any ECU connections that you had to remove. They may have been affected when you moved the vehicle... Failing that, pull the ECU again and have another look at it to see if there is evidence of new damage.
