D1 parking lights/central locking system

I have a minor problem...when I unlock my car (usually using the remote) my parking lights no longer blink one time. When I lock the car they still blink three times. The security system appears to be functioning fine...the little red light on the instrument panel still blinks rapidly. The central locking system still functions fine. Just wondering why my lights don't work when I unlock the car? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Your keyfob remote needs a new battery!

You can replace the battery yourself without dealer intervention to re-program... however, ensure you put the new battery in within a minute!!!!

Thanks David, but I have a new battery. The remote works just fine, as does the central locking system. Only issue is with the lights when I unlock the door - they don't blink one time like they used to.

My 97 has been doing exactly the same thing over the past few weeks. Now it working just fine. Maybe I should take the advise and replace the battery.
