ok lets clarify.........this bumper is bolted on using the factory bolts, in addition to that there is a bolt that goes through the ens of the frame. the bumper was made with a bracket that fits like a knuckle around the frame to keep it from moving up or down.

as far as lights on the d1..... they are all the same

Christ man, could you be a little more cryptic? I actually am interested in what, if any, the difference is. Is there no turn signal in the top pic? Am I to assume the top pic is of a 94/95? Again, please elaborate. It would be nice if some useful info came out of this all.

dude, look at the pic, use the context clules where it was mentioned that 94 and 95 lose the turn signals when the bumper goes away

There are no turn signals in the body mounted rear tail lights on NAS 94 and 95 Discovery

Do you need me to say it in another language?

side note: love the color on that truck.

x2 - funny the top truck is the '94/'95 but is running later wheels. and the bottom truck is the later truck, running the castor wheels from '94/'95.

but yes, that is the difference. No amber turn signals in the body of the '94/'95s. only have them in the bumper. don't think it would be too hard to splice the turn signal line into the body lights though.

Just needed you to say it once. Don't know why you were so intent on me playing Sherlock Holmes? The turn signal info is something good to know, especially if someone else is looking at this thread later. Coming right out and stating the issue would have been more effective than leaving a breadcrumb trail of vague clues.

And as mentioned, it can't be that difficult to wire up the tail lights for turn signals, or possibly swap to a later year lamp assembly, IDK? Probably no more difficult than wiring lights in the aftermarket bumper.

I went by and took a look at the rear DI bumper. They look good with the 2 extra recovery points. The recovery points are higher than the hitch. Therefore, I don't think you would have any problems with any approach angle. Not only are they bolted with the original mounting bolts, but also have a extra bolt through the end of the frame rail. If you pull this off you will be ripping the frame. They look very similar to the original rear bumpers, but all steel.

I did in post 16.

The lights are interchangeable, but 94/95 lights look better IMO and the end user shouldn't be required to swap tail lights to run a non conforming part. The MFG needs to add 2 holes and 4 tabs required for the lights.

I suppose one could infer that from your post. However, you only stated that only 96-99 D1's have all required lighting in the body assemblies. You did not actually state what the 94-95's did not have. But anyways...........

I don't think the manufacturer NEEDS to add anything. They could make it an option. But for as many people that want the bumper lights there are just as many who do not. Making a standard bumper and having the lights as an option makes much more sense. However, the manufacturer doesn't HAVE to even do that.
