My drivers seat in my '99 last of the D1's (with better support than the earlier ones) is getting a bit worse for wear. Any recommendations for repair work? The tan leather is still ok but the foam is a bit ropey. Will seats from a DII fit ??
I believe if I find a decent D1 front passenger seat, I could swap the cover and foam over to mine. Thanks

The bottom diaphragm is broken. Either buy a new rubber one or make one out of fabric. I have a few fabric ones available.

Thanks for the replies guys. The metal frame is fine, the bottom diaphragm is fine. Its a '99 SD and the later D1 seats do not have the pad fall out the bottom like the older ones. My problem is that the stitching on the leather cover is threatening to come apart and the foam on the raised side seems to be deforming and I would like to do some maintenance. The passenger side seems in very nice condition by comparison.

The D1 seats in earlier Discoveries had a bad habit with age, the support for the central pad of the seat would tear and separate and you ended up sitting much lower, with discomfort. I am not having that problem and the support is fine. The leather cover and its stitching is getting worse for wear and I would like to replace it with something in better condition. I feel sure I can take the seat apart :)
