Just wondering about the possibility of upgrading from the early (93-95/96) D1 FOB (single button) to the later (96-99) two button fob.
- Is it possible?
- Would the ECU only need replacing in order to use the newer fobs?
I know that the early single button FOBs were a security issue because they used the same code to lock the vehicle and unlock the vehicle. The later two button FOB used two separate codes for locking and unlocking preventing someone from scanning your code and using the one code to lock and unlock, thereby preventing theft.
