To say he should get the SD rack because YOU think it is the "best looking" isn't really helpful. Looks are totally subjective. The Baja rack appears to have a nice option for rooftop tent users, unlike the SD that requires cutting of the rack. What I don't like about the Baja Rack is that you have to purchase the front light bar separately. IMO it should be included in the rack. Other than that I'm not too familiar with either rack.partridgejoshua said:You should really wait to get the safety devices rack. It is by far the best looking rack made for the discovery

You'd be surprised at how many I've came across just this year.Big Papa said:He'll be waiting a long time unless he's lucky enough to come across a nice used one.

Furthermore, rooftop tents are for toolbags.

he has a rare low profile SD. so i don't think he's hurtin too much in the rack department.
Timmy!!!!!!! said:I am sure the Bajarack is strong and it is nice that you don't have to hack it up to put a RTT on top. But my Problem with the Bajarack is a lot with the design. The rack just doesn't flow well with the truck. The wind deflector on it looks like it was just thrown on top of the truck so the Bajarack could get free advertising.
Another negative about the rack is the design of the rack feet. They are spaced out to the point that the load doesn't sit right above the pillars like the SD rack. Other racks at least offset this by spreading the load out with a bar that runs along the whole gutter (i.e. Hannibal and ARB)
