The baja rack is the best option going right now...don't own one, but know the guy's and they do high quality work, better than ANY Safety Devices rack. My SD rack self destructed after 3 years...

yeah, i think the baja rack is going to be the way to go. i talked to sergio a while back, and i don't think they are making the low profile racks anymore, only the tall ones. we have the S model without sunroofs, so the low profile would have probably been the best for us.

Iv'e had a baja rack for about 2 years know an I think it would be the best option for a NEW rack. strong enough for the top heavy discos. rated at over 600 lbs. I had Sergio, one of the owners to modify my rack for the roof top tent to go off the back so they removed the rear cross member. Very cleve! Still plenty strong.
The only problem I see with it is on a 04 or 03 discovery you need to remove the roof rails via headliner only with the lower profile rack. You can get the higher profile rack but I think it sits up a little to high but not a deal breaker. Nice guys too.

They've changed the design and you no longer have to remove the rails on any of the Disco's. The new design is only offered with one profile that it just in between what was the older high and low profile. Both sunroofs will still open with the new rack. It's quite a good design.
